'Fraid so, readers! You're all trapped into being my friends! :D

(oh god what am I doing)

A silly set of pictures I took a few weeks ago with my toys to commemorate the end of Kamen Rider Fourze, one of the best absolute most fun children's shows I've watched in recent memory. And now it's over. ;_;

If you're into the ponies (and if you're reading this and you're not, how did you get here seriously tell me) I highly recommend hunting this down. It's pretty much the same motif--friendship is magic!--only with a lot more action and pyrotechnics.*

And the main character is the nice-guy bancho version of Pinkie Pie. No, seriously. Hence the duo we've got going here. After "A Friend In Deed," it was impossible for me not to.

*(I've heard dropping the name of the series's head writer also gets it attention, but here at Bookish Delight Press, we believe a show should stand on its own merits. ;))

I just recently finished Kamen Rider Fourze. After coming off of Double and OOO (both of which I adored), I wasn't 100% sure if I would like Fourze. At a glance, the Fourze system of "four slots, four Astro Switches" was rather complicated and didn't seem quite as elegant and cool as the Gaia Memories and Core Medals.

...But darn it, the characters are so freaking lovable! Gentaro fully succeed in making friends with me. I still think I like Double and OOO and little more, but on its own merits, Fourze is a very strong series.

I loved how the various members of the rider club were developed. It was such a brilliant move to make several of them antagonistic and easy to hate at first, only to develop their characters and have Gentaro's friendship and understanding redeem them. That really got my attention.

I think the moment that completely and utterly sold me was in Movie Wars Megamax, when Gentaro temporarily lost the will to fight, and the entire rider club showed up and engaged the villains. Even though they didn't have powers, and stood very little chance against the enemies, each and every one of them were ready and willing to lay down their lives to buy Gentaro the time he needed. Gah, the feels in that scene were strong.

Not my absolute favorite Kamen Rider series, but certainly not for lack of trying. I actually really want to get Nadeshiko's figuart now...
